My local pub has changed hands over the years and each time has been renamed in respectfully keeping with its centuries old history. In 1962, it was refurbished and named "The Well", due to the proximity of the old town well. In 1989, it changed hands and became "The Black Bull" as it's on the site of the historic cattle market. In 2015, it became a Wetherspoons carefully named as at 5:30pm any evening, you can sit and worry about being stabbed by a red-faced local tattooed alcoholic with a spoon.
