So I was doing some work with a group of people who were dealing with the trauma of sexual assault recently, and we came up with 4 components that make for a successful transition through the stages.
Recognize it. Be able to admit that something horrible happened
Acknowledge it. Be comfortable and open discussing it.
Process it. What can be learned from it
Exit it.Move on from the traumatic thought knowing you have allowed your brain to analyze what’s gone on.
